About Us

This is the website of the Welton NEWS, a monthly magazine delivered free to all households in of Welton-by-Lincoln: a village some six miles north of the city of Lincoln.

The Welton NEWS seeks to provide residents with regular updates on activities within the village in an interesting and easily readable format. This website hopefully will allow readers to refer back to recent issues and for those who have left the village or who have connections to the village, to keep up with the latest news.

The magazine is published and this website is maintained by members of the Welton NEWS Committee, a non-profit, independent and voluntary organisation.  Publishing costs are met through the revenues from our advertising. Please support our magazine by using our advertisers and mention the Welton NEWS when making enquiries. Always use the most recent issue of the NEWS for advertisers as services and contact details are always subject to change.

If you are new to the village, the ‘Welcome to Welton’ section may provide useful information about services and activities available in the village. The editor welcomes feedback on contents and regular updates from village organisations so that data are current.

The Village Notice Board for future events in the Village, the Activities page provides contact numbers for various organisations in the Village.

If you are planning an event, please review the Village Notice Board and find out if there is a potential clash of dates with another event. Once you’ve determined on a date, contact the editor to ensure your event is posted on the Village Notice Board.

Organisations are prone to change personnel and contact details from time to time so we rely on village organisations to advise changes to ensure the Village Activities page remains up-to-date.

If you are new to the village you may want to know what services are available. The section ‘Welcome to Welton’ may provide some answers as will our advertisements in the magazine. The Parish Office at 7 Lincoln Road (between the Paper Shop and the Black Bull) is another useful source of information.

Residents are invited to help with the magazine by either joining the committee or volunteering to help distribute the magazine within the village (one to two hours a month).

We always welcome contributors who provide articles or letters for publication.  Please email these to:
